Sapna A. Shah, Principal
Ms. Shah co-founded Retail Eye Partners in 2006
with Ms. Walters. Together with Ms. Walters, Ms. Shah is
active in researching, analyzing and reporting on all companies in
the REP coverage universe. Ms. Shah has over eight years of
experience working for retailers in the specialty apparel and home
furnishings sectors. Ms. Shah was most recently Executive
Director of Strategy & Customer Insight at Linens 'n Things,
Inc. In this capacity, she was responsible for customer
targeting and segmentation, market and consumer research, corporate
strategic planning and competitive benchmarking. Ms. Shah also
led the launch of new businesses such as accent furniture and led a
cross-functional team to develop fashion-right textile
assortments. Prior to joining Linens 'n Things, Ms. Shah was
Director of Strategic Planning & New Business Development at Ann
Taylor. In this role, she focused on projects such as
launching Ann Taylor’s e-commerce site, developing a color cosmetics
line and improving store operations. Ms. Shah also has
experience at Gap, Inc., where she focused on process improvement
projects. Previous to her career in retail, Ms. Shah worked
for two years in Investment Banking at Punk, Ziegel & Knoell, a
health care and technology focused boutique and at Morgan Stanley as
a credit analyst. Ms. Shah received her B.S. in Economics from
the Wharton School as well as a B.A. in East Asian Studies from the
College of Arts & Sciences at the University of
Pennsylvania. She received her M.B.A. from Columbia Business
School.
Lisa M. Walters, Principal
Ms. Walters co-founded Retail Eye Partners in 2006 with Ms. Shah. Together with Ms. Shah, Ms. Walters is active in researching, analyzing and reporting on all companies in the REP coverage universe. Ms. Walters has over 15 years of experience working with leading companies in the retail and apparel sector. Prior to co-founding REP, Ms. Walters was an Executive Director of Strategy and Business Development at Linens ‘n Things, Inc. In this role, she was responsible for proprietary brand development, licensed brand management and new concept testing. For each of these initiatives, Ms. Walters was instrumental in developing the long-term strategic and financial planning, assortment selection, in-store merchandising and marketing programs.
Prior to joining Linens ‘n Things, Ms. Walters worked for nine years in Investment Banking for such firms as Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc., PMG Capital and Mabon Securities. She completed financing and M&A transactions for retail and apparel companies such as Jones Apparel Group, Warnaco, Petco, Hollywood Video, Movie Gallery, Tuesday Morning, Lillian Vernon and Charming Shoppes. Ms. Walters received her B.A. with Distinction from Cornell University and received her M.B.A. with Distinction from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
